Changing the face of ‘men’tal health: Craig Hamilton
13 November 2019
We welcomed about 180 people today at Kalori Training and Conference Centre to hear from Craig Hamilton, ABC radio rugby broadcaster and former cricketer, and mental health ambassador.
Following a psychotic episode in 2000 just prior to the Sydney Olympics, Craig was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and spent 12 days in hospital. After his recovery, Craig has become one of Australia’s most high-profile speakers and advocates on the importance of mental health, lifestyle and wellbeing, particularly for men who can often find it a difficult topic to discuss.
Invited community leaders in mental health services, other industry members and employees took the opportunity to have an open conversation with Craig about the role we can all play in living a healthier life.
At the event we were proud to showcase some of the amazing services that we have here in Gladstone to support people throughout their journey.
