First of its kind mental health facility launches in Gladstone

Gladstone’s first dedicated hub to help people with mental health and alcohol and other drug issues launched this week in the CBD.

Located at 147 Goondoon Street, Gladstone Mindcare offers a community space for locals to seek expert advice and up-to-date information, learn more, and connect with each other.

It is also a space of collaboration for service providers who provide mental health and wellbeing support to the Gladstone community.

Gladstone Mindcare Co-Ordinator Dani Appleby said years of research and collaboration underpinned this week’s launch, “There has been a groundswell of support for this service delivery model from all corners of Gladstone. As a local team, we bring together research, community leaders, and support services to work collaboratively on improving the wellbeing of the Gladstone community.”

“Gladstone Mindcare is both an online resource and a physical place where people can come for help. It now should be easier to find out about the range of services available in the region from the one place. Everyone is welcome to drop in.”

Gladstone Mindcare is proudly launched with the founding support of the Gladstone Foundation, Here for Gladstone (partnership between Rio Tinto Yarwun, Boyne Smelters Limited and Queensland Alumina Limited), McCosker Contracting and many individual donors and volunteers.
