Gladstone Mindcare Hub celebrates first birthday

Gladstone Mindcare was established as a local not for profit charity following extensive research into the mental health and wellbeing needs of the Gladstone community funded by Here for Gladstone.  The Gladstone Mindcare Hub officially opened its’ doors on 2 February 2021 after purchase and extensive refurbishment made possible by McCosker Contracting and the Gladstone Foundation.

The Gladstone Mindcare Hub, located at 147 Goondoon Street, is a safe and inclusive community space for the people of Gladstone to obtain information and referral to mental health and wellbeing supports as well as social connection and health promotion activities.  It is also a co-working space for service providers who provide mental health and wellbeing support and who collectively work to improve the wellbeing of the Gladstone community.

Dani Appleby, Coordinator of Gladstone Mindcare, said, “We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved in our first year.  We acknowledge and are so grateful to McCosker Contracting, Here for Gladstone and all of the local businesses and individuals who have supported us to create this community space. Our journey has just begun and we look forward to continuing to promote improved mental health and wellbeing in Gladstone.”
